To promote animal welfare in Africa so that our farm animals, companion animals, and wildlife live a happy, healthy, and secure life.
An Africa where animal welfare is a core value in our communities.
WHO WE ARE.
APAA is an animal welfare organisation dedicated to promoting the well-being of farm animals, companion animals and wildlife across Africa.
Our vision is an Africa where animal welfare is a core value in our communities.
WE PUT IN THE WORK.
We work across three focus areas:
Animals in Disasters
Animals in the Community
Animals in the Wild
We undertake disaster response and rescues for animals in disasters and communities, by providing veterinary care, zoonotic-disease control, feeding, vaccinating, rehoming and sheltering abandoned and disaster-displaced animals.
We promote animal sentience by advocating for the physical and mental health of companion animals, by supporting veterinary care, zoonotic-disease control, feeding, vaccinating and child education in welfare and care of companion animals
We campaign for the protection of wildlife and their habitats by promoting community coexistence with wildlife, wildlife disaster rescues, and preventing zoonotic disease outbreaks between wildlife, livestock, and people.
We advocate for farming systems that promote good animal welfare practices, protect the environment, and build resilience against animal diseases and disasters.
We offer technical training to communities and animal technicians on animal welfare, disasters, and wildlife protection.
