APAA and Kajiado County Government launched a 20-day vaccination and deworming drive for CCPP and Coenurosis diseases respectively, aiming to vaccinate 635,000 goats in 19 sub-counties and 4000 dogs in Kajiado county.
The Launch of Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia (CCPP) Disease Vaccinations and Deworming in Kajiado County
On October 14, 2021, Action for Protection of Animals Africa (APAA) in collaboration with the Kajiado County Government launched the Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia (CCPP) and Coenurosis disease vaccinations and deworming respectively, in Enkaroni, Purko ward in Kajiado county. The drive that coincided with the International day for Disaster Reduction was conducted under a project; the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation in Kajiado county. Hundreds of herders came out to have their goats vaccinated while some brought their dogs to have them dewormed against the Coenurosis disease.Â
The 20 days vaccination drive aimed to vaccinate 635,000 goats in 19 sub-counties in 131 designated crushes and 4000 dogs against Coenurosis in Kajiado county.Â
